Valley Forge Christian College Softball Tournament

In addition to three Valley Forge Weddings (Katie and Ty, Jonathan and Breanne, Addison and Alyssa) this summer, I was also asked to shoot the 30th Annual Valley Forge Christian College Softball Tournament. It was a great time meeting with teams from all over the country and getting to do some sports photography. Here are some highlights.

Punkin Chunkin: The Second Time

If you’ve been a follower of the blog for a while, you know that Aaren Lee and I were at the annual Punkin Chunkin last year. It’s a great time and my parents are in it. You may recognize Tory Belleci from Mythbusters. Discovery Channel is a HUGE part of the competition now and it makes for a great family atmosphere, and a special edition feature on Thanksgiving Day on TV!

This year was very fun and my family’s chunker United Flingdom III threw pumpkins the furthest it ever has (and got 3rd place in the world!).

Punkin Chunkin Fun

Remember the show Junkward Wars?

Yeah, it wasn’t that great. BUT the contestants in one of the episodes built a contraption to throw a pumpkin as far as possible using centrifugal technology. They would compete in an event  in my hometown called Pumpkin Chunkin.

A few years later, my parents would join a team to compete in Pumpkin Chunkin. They’d purchase that machine from the Europeans of Junkyard Wars and modify that machine. It’s called United Flingdom and is now tradition in my family. This was the first year I had been able to come and my when my parents were participating. I also brought the beautiful Aaren Lee along as well.

They have great food, great music, and rides for the kids! For more information checkout punkinchunkin.com
